Wrath of Angels – Aeronautica Imperialis

Back in May, we got out first look at Wrath of Angels and a plastic Thunderhawk Gunship as part of the Warhammer Fest Online. Today, Warhammer Community unboxes the Wrath of Angels. Like Wings of Vengeance and Skies of Fire, the new box takes aim at both rookies and aces in the grim 40k skies.

Wrath of Angels – Contents

Wrath of Angels ships with everything you need to start playing except an opponent. Rules, reference cards, tokens, a gorgeous double-sided game mat, dice, and eleven aircraft. More than enough for rookies to fly multiple missions. Ace pilots look to a box release for new aircraft and ordinance. Drawn from the Adeptus Astartes and Aeldari Craftworlds these sleek killers form a true match of power and toughness versus agility and grace.

Aircraft

For the Adeptus Astartes pilots man a trio of Xiphon Interceptors and pair of Storm Eagle gunships. Their strong frames and powerful engines allow Hi-G maneuvers that only as Space Marine’s transhuman body can withstand.

The Aeldari bring a trio of Phoenix Bombers and a trio of escorting Nightwings. With their combination of advanced technology, sleek aerodynamics, and skilled pilots, they should match the simple mon-keigh.

The game mat unfolds to display two exciting combat locations. On the obverse, we see a few scattered installation, cracked earth, and numerous lava flows. A perfect combination for running high risk drop and retrieval missions.

The reverse displays a desolate lunar landscape with numerous installations and infrastructure lines of blatantly Imperial manufacture. Such a target rich environment brings out the best on Phoenix Bombers on interdiction and strike missions.

No word on release date at the moment. However, Games Workshop through Warhammer Community promises more Aeronautica Imperialis content very soon now. Expect to see preview datacards, aces, and that Thunderhawk very soon now.

Scramble all fighters! Take those xenos down.
