Warhammer Fest Online, Day 1 Review

Welcome to the Day 1 Review of Warhammer Fest Online! Last month, Games Workshop paused new releases and preorders for several week. The Warhammer Fest marks the start of new model reveals. We’ll be seeing a return to regular prereleases in by the end of this week! Until then, tune in every day as Games Workshop pulls back the curtain on new items for your favorite lines.

Day 1 Review – Kragnos

As you can see from the schedule above, the Day 1 Review will be looking at goings on in Age of Sigmar. Broken Realms comes to a close with the fourth book, Broken Realms: Kragnos. The titular character, Kragnos, is the first god tier character for destruction and his complete story will be told there!

Befitting the arrival of a new god, Kragnos receives a mighty kit that towers over every other model in Destruction except only the Mega-Gargants.

With all the detailing you expect from modern Games Workshop releases.

Sadly, he is the last remnant of a long dead race. I was hoping for more centaurs!

But Kragnos isn’t the only reveal from Broken Realms: Kragnos. The Day 1 Review confirms we’re seeing new models and Warscrolls for a host of Order and Chaos characters in the book. Lord Kroak awakens to lead the Seraphon into this new age. The Sylvaneth bring the land itself to life with their Warsong Revenants. The father/daughter team of witch hunting Van Densts support the Cities of Sigmar. And then you have the Talon and Voice of Slaanesh, the Newborn of the Prince of Excess, representing Chaos.

Day 1 Review – Soulblights

Now we turn to the realm of Shyish where saw the Soul Wars draw to an epic close with the breaking of the Necroquake and near obliteration of Nagash. In that power void, old, yet new, powers stir. Day 1 Review catches up with new vampires.

Among the most imposing of the new powers stands the Avengorii dynasty of vampires. A true blend of splendor and horror, Lauka Vai, Mother of Nightmares, leads them to war.

Not only does this new kit build Lauka Vai, you may assemble it as a Vengorian Lord. Both models are a fear inducing blend of mortal, bat, and drake. Likewise, they are also powerful warriors and wizards, leading their undead armies into battle after battle.

If this was the only reveal for the Soulblights from the Day 1 Review, I’d be satisfied, but we have news of another, more animalistic dynasty, the Vyrkos.

Belladamma Volga, First of the Vyrkos, leads the clan with a combination of vampiric savagery and powerful sorcery. Stories have her commanding Dire Wolves with but a word. Mortals crossing her may find themselves changed into wolves themselves and forced into her hunt.

And where would our new vampires be without a rescupted pack of Dire Wolves. These leaner, hungrier beasts form Battleline units in any Soulblight force. Additionally, they also find their way into all manner of other undead forces.

It turns out that the Day 1 Review dispels the rumors of the death of a another prominent wolf. Indeed, Radukar the Wolf emerged stronger and larger than ever before from the events of Cursed City. Behold, Radukar the Beast! Don’t expect mercy. Pray for a quick death.

We’ll draw a close to the Day 1 Review here. There’s a great deal of additional content on the Warhammer Community including videos and interviews.

You’ll also find some closer looks at the Van Densts and Lord Kroak right here on CMO Games.
