Necron Destroyers and Warriors Deploy at CMO Games

New Necron arrivals steal center stage this week at CMO Games. The Warriors box lets inspiring Overlords expand their hortes. The Skorpekh and Hexmark Destroyers deploy two all new Codex units without having to purchase a Starter set.

Necron Warriors
Here’s the unstoppable center for any Necron army. Cheap and numerous, Necron Warriors benefit from Dynastic Auras and Commander abilities with their CORE keyword. With up to 20 models in a unit and one Wound each, Warriors benefit greatly from Reanimation Protocols so keep them close to supporting characters. Between judicious use of a Technomancer and “Their Number is Legion” should keep them nearly topped out. Your Warriors may carry either Gauss Flayers, for longer ranged engagements, or Gauss Reapers, shorter ranged with better strength and AP, for close quarters. Choose the one that fits their battlefield role.

In addition to the 10 Necron Warriors, each box included 3 Canoptek Scarab Swarms. A very cheap flying fast Attack choice, Swarms make great filler to tie-up key enemy units. The more Warriors you include in your army, the more Scarabs you’ll be able to field. With 4 Wounds, Scrabs have difficulty reanimating, but an accompanying Canoptek Spyder mitigates that by just raising one for you. For extra fun, and a single CP, you engage Self-Destruction to trade 1 model for 1-3 mortal wounds on an Engaged unit.

Necron Skorpekh Destroyers
As an elite melee unit, Skorpekh Destroyers are brutal close combat machines. While the standard Hyperphase Treshers are able to kill Primaris with one shot, every third model carries a hyperphase reap-blade with increased Strength and AP. While lacking a transport option, Skorpekhs are fast (M8) and have the Whirling Onslaught stratagem making them harder to wound when they do get shot.

Each box of Destroyers includes a single Canoptek Plasmacyte. These little CCanoptek constructs follow Destroyer Cult units to Infuse Madness ability to up Strength and Attacks by one each. There is a small chance you’ll lose a model, don’t roll a one, but the buff is worth it.

Necron Hexmark Destroyer
Hexmark Destroyers pack a host of abilities in a single model. Armed with 6 enmitic disintigrator pistols which hot on 2+ and re-roll 1s they rarely miss. They then gain an additional shot for each enemy model destroyed. While their damage and AP are lacking, they will make a bloody mess of any light armor unit or even vehicle. With Dimensional Translocation Hexmarks can strike in unexpected places. Finally, as they are characters, they expand the reach of your Command Protocols when needed.
