We’re looking into the future with New Monday Models courtesy of Warhammer Community. This week we’ll travel to both the Van Denst from the Broken Realms of Age of Sigmar and head off with some Ork Beast Snaggs in ‘Here We Go!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Van Denst Witch Hunters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Our first set of characters hails from the Cities of Sigmar. This father-daughter team excels both at ranged and melee combat. Introducing Galen and Doralia Van Denst!

The elder Van Denst, Galen, carries a holy pistol and run-etched broadsword. The power of his will and weapons is such he may even banish endless spells with a flurry of shots or blows. Mere mortals and undead stand little chance against this experienced warrior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like the optional hands, hope there’s an empty scabbard as well!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Now Galen’s daughter, Doralia, prefers to engage from range. Her crossbow looks like it should have a monopod to fire, but she handles it freehanded with unerring accuracy. Many have though her easy prey once inside the crossbow’s arc only to find she swings a mean blade as well. Just like good old Dad!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Optional heads are always a great bit. I’d go with her bare head and save the hat for a conversion. It wouldn’t look out of place on a 40K Inquisitor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Games Workshop is playing cagy on when we’ll get out hands on this team. My best guess would when Broken Realms Be’Lakor releases. Unlike Teclis, there isn’t much to add to the Daemons of Chaos. More importantly, they haven’t teamed any new models other than Be’lakor at this point! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beast Snaggas, Squig Cavalry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Time to venture to the far future with a decidedly “old ways’ set of Orks. Someone in the Design Studio has a love for big cavalry units. We’ve had Thunderwolves, Serberys Raiders, and the stunning new Lumineth Windchargers. Now, we hear the drumming of mighty squig paws as the Beast Snaggas crest the rise!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Mounted on seriously overgrown squigs, Beast Snaggas look to prefer spears (stikk-choppas?) over shootas. But those spears aren’t just muscle powered, the meks added rocket boosts to them. Not only are they louder, they’re killier as well! Makes them proper Orky it does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Don’t count the grotz out either. They’re standing on the squig haunches, bareback, and with only one hand grip. The other’s to get their own whacks in as the Boyz stick the charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Again, we don’t have a release date, but as they were part of the latest online preview, the Weirdboyz 8-ball says “Soon”. Hopefully there’ll be a few more squig powered options coming up for the Orks. They’re always at their best when they lean, hard, into the absurd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
